Throughout the year, Insurance Office of America (IOA) makes it a point to not only passionately serve clients, but to also impact and serve the community. 2015 was an especially big year for the IOA Longwood Office, as they collaborated with several local charities to provide relief for those who needed it most.
In January, IOA partnered with Safehouse, an organization dedicated to providing a safe place for domestic violence victims and their children, to collect several boxes of women’s clothing and household items to donate during their annual Wish List Drive.
IOA hosted the “Junk in the Trunk” event for the Mustard Seed of Florida, a furniture and clothing bank, where IOA employees filled a container of household items for those in need.
Just a few months ago, IOA hosted the annual IOA Corporate 5k at Lake Eola, where the IOA Team filled up several boxes of nonperishable food items for the Christian Service Center in an attempt to assist them in their mission to eradicate poverty in Central Florida. IOA recently hosted the “Wear Your Heart on Your Jeans” event for the American Heart Association. IOA employees donated $20 and were encouraged to wear jeans for the entire month to show their support to fight against cardiovascular disease. IOA was able to raise $5,500 for the American Heart Association.
Pinktober was a huge hit at IOA! Employees took part by purchasing pink bagels and roses, and collected donations throughout the office. IOA ended up donating over $7,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
During Thanksgiving, IOA donated 36 turkeys to the Christian Sharing Center to provide holiday meals for the less fortunate.
Over the holidays, IOA donated a total of $2,400 to several different local charities. With this money, IOA was able to provide toys for children at the Harbor House, help the Christian Sharing Center feed those less fortunate, provide socks and shoes for children in need as well as a check for $400, and provide Christmas gift bags, put together by employees, for the homeless on Christmas Eve.
Around Christmastime, IOA hosted a Breakfast with Santa at Alaqua Country Club where the IOA Team presented the Harbor House with a check for $1540 plus several boxes of toys for those in need.
2015 was a very successful year for giving back to the Central Florida community. The IOA Family is excited to welcome 2016 and see what we can do to serve this year!
