David Shaffer

David Shaffer has been working in the medical professional liability insurance field since 1996. During this time, David has experienced various facets of the malpractice industry including physician underwriting for one of the nation’s largest physician malpractice insurers, healthcare facilities underwriting for one of California’s largest malpractice insurers, and working as a retail insurance broker helping Independent Agencies with nationwide territories develop their medical malpractice divisions.

As an insurance broker for Insurance Office of America, David uses his unique combination of underwriting expertise and brokerage knowledge to assist hospitals, healthcare facilities, physicians groups, physician and various others with their insurance needs. David’s unique background was also instrumental in convincing the malpractice industry to begin writing some of the first medical spa malpractice insurance policies.

In addition to medical professional liability, David has the ability to assist his clients with their other insurance needs, including: General Liability, Property, Business Office Packages, Workers Compensation, Employment Practice Liability, Director’s & Officers, etc.

A graduate of Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, David holds a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management & Marketing. Additionally, he maintains memberships/relationships with Greater Fort Wayne, Inc. (former Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce), the Indiana Medical Group Management Association (IMGMA), the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and American Medical Spa Association (AmSpa). David serves as the exclusive insurance agent for AmSpa’s insurance programs.
