LONGWOOD, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2020) – Insurance Office of America (IOA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Robert (“Bob”) J. Peters to the role of chief operating officer (COO). Bob formerly held the role of COO as part of his over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
Bob joined IOA in 2019 as senior vice president of insurance operations, bringing an extensive breadth and depth of operational knowledge and experience to the company. Since then, he has played a significant role in enhanced performance and complex problem-solving as well as transitioning operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Bob has been instrumental in helping us establish and begin to execute on those key operational initiatives that set the table for our continued growth and advancement as we move to the next level as an organization,” said IOA Chairman and CEO Heath Ritenour. “These are unprecedented times, and we are blessed to have Bob as part of the IOA family.”
In his new role, Bob will lead the company’s ongoing operational transformation and oversee the successful delivery of new products and services for clients as well as improved technology capabilities. In addition to his new position, Bob has been appointed to the board of directors as its newest member.

Bob earned his MBA from Plymouth State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of New Hampshire. Bob also holds the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and has been instrumental in bringing Six Sigma training into the company.
