ST. HELENA, Calif. (May 20, 2014) -Insurance Office of America, Inc. (IOA) announces the addition of Cameron R. Crebs as the leader and producer of IOA’s recently opened St. Helena office in California. With 15 years of industry experience, Crebs is excited to partner with IOA. His local knowledge of the Napa Valley industry backed by the support of a nationwide agency will provide a platform of superior service and growth. Chairman and Founder of IOA John Ritenour stated, “As a part of our expansion efforts into northern California, Cameron will bring a tremendous amount of experience to our west coast team.”
Growing up a St. Helena native and third generation insurance professional, Crebs will be a great addition to the IOA family. His insurance career began at Lloyd’s of London in 1999, where he spent time working for Ballantyne, McKean and Sullivan Ltd. (BMS Group). Later working as a professional liability underwriter for Victor O. Schinnerer & Co., a Marsh & McLennan company, Crebs was recruited by AIG and relocated to their underwriting office in San Francisco. He spent time under the National Union Division Five, where AIG had more than 14 professional liability products that specialized in technology companies, many of which were Fortune 500 companies.
As time went on, the insurance market began to harden and an emerging demand for captive programs and insurance alternatives became apparent. To react to such an environment, Crebs created the Polaris Enterprise Group, Inc. in 2003, which specializes in creating long-term insurance alternatives for those in need of better solutions. Crebs returned to his hometown of St. Helena, California in 2008, where he and his wife Michelle both live with their two sons. The move sparked the opportunity to develop a retail book of business with a guided focus on wineries, vineyards, hospitality, restaurants, construction and other facets of the insurance industry. Crebs also serves as Vice President of the Napa Valley Wine Library Association, a group of professionals whose purpose is to preserve wine culture and share industry best practices. With a genuine passion to serve others and diverse expertise in hand, Crebs will surely add value as a member of the IOA family.
