James Powell

James Powell joined Insurance Office of America in November 2006 and he currently serves as a managing partner. James has provided commercial insurance in Ocala and the surrounding Central Florida area for nearly two decades, specializing in construction, trade contractors, manufacturing, wholesale/retail, commercial properties, and churches/schools. IOA provides all lines of property and casualty coverage, workers compensation, group benefits, payroll services and risk management services.

James began his insurance career in 1996 under the mentorship of his uncle, Mike Powell, who owned a successful multiline agency in Ocala, Florida. He made the decision to partner with IOA in 2006 and helped bring the brokerage into the Ocala market. Since then, the Ocala branch has had steady, sustainable growth and continues to increase its market share in the North Florida region.

James earned an Associate of Science degree in business management from the College of Central Florida, and he holds the certified insurance counselor (CIC) designation from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.
