Rob Motley

Rob Motley is the president of Insurance Office of America. Rob is a business leader with an exemplary track record spanning more than 30 years in the insurance industry. He has proven strength in leadership, business development, and operations as well as the delivery of innovative tools, such as IOA’s proprietary RiskScore® solution. Rob has risen steadily through IOA leadership having held key regional and national roles. He joined Insurance Office of America in 2003 and was appointed to the IOA Board of Directors in 2008. In 2013, he was named a regional president, and in 2022, he was named East Coast division president.

Rob graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in insurance and economic development in 1987. He earned the certified insurance counselor (CIC) designation in 1994 and was recognized in 2020 for more than 25 years of dedicated professional leadership and advanced knowledge by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. Additionally, he has served as a member over several insurance company advisory boards.

Rob began his insurance career with State Farm Insurance. In 1990, he joined the Davis-Garvin Agency. During his tenure, his positions included sales, commercial lines manager, marketing manager, sales manager and vice president. His responsibilities included business development, agency acquisition development, carrier relations development, and agency management.

In 2000, Rob joined Carolina Insurance Consultants (CIC). As a partner with CIC, he opened and managed the Columbia, SC, branch. In 2003, Rob acquired the Columbia operation of CIC and merged it with Insurance Office of America (IOA).

Rob’s achievements include: member of the IOA Advisory Council 2005-2007; chairman of IOA Advisory Council 2007; IOA Agent of the Year 2007; Chairman’s Club member in 2006, 2007, 2011, 2012, and 2013. In addition, the Columbia branch was awarded IOA Small Branch of the Year 2005, 2006, and 2009 and awarded IOA Large Branch of the Year 2012.

Rob is a certified RiskScore® consultant and co-owner of Coral BK. Coral BK is the patent holder of I-Verify, a web-based system to electronically verify insurance coverage for all parties. He is actively involved in his church, community, and charitable organizations as well as social and governmental agendas, and he is the managing partner of Oak Development Company LLC, Post Oak Development LLC, and Charlex Holdings LLC.
