Chris Despot joined Insurance Office of America (IOA) in December 2021 as a risk management consultant. Before coming on board with IOA, Chris spent more than a decade as a property and casualty insurance broker for Willis Towers Watson.

He began his professional insurance career working for a well-respected, family-owned insurance agency in Birmingham, Alabama. Building on this foundation allowed Chris to better understand the importance of risk management and insurance as well as the ficial challenges facing business owners and executives.

A native of Louisiana, Chris began his studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management. He also holds the certified insurance counselor (CIC) designation.

Chris is technically savvy with respect to property and casualty insurance coverage and risk management. He serves several industry sectors, including, but not limited to, construction, manufacturing, equipment rental/sales, and healthcare.
