Michael Coleman joined Insurance Office of America (IOA) in 2015 and now serves as its Eastern Division president. A specialist in the construction industry, Mike has over two decades of risk management and insurance coverage experience. He initially pursued a career in the legal field, working for various law firms in Rochester, New York. Many of his cases involved claims in the construction industry, which introduced him to a large construction company that ultimately hired him to manage their contracts and claims. This led to an introduction to the retail insurance industry, and he subsequently joined Robert J. Hanafin Inc. in 2003. Since then, Michael has been focused on providing risk management services for developers and the construction industry.

In 2015, IOA purchased Robert J. Hanafin Inc., providing additional market access and incredible options like RiskScore, which includes loss control and claims management and translates into added value for his clients.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in health and society from the University of Rochester and is in the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
