Michael S. Hasner joined Insurance Office of America in June 2005 and currently serves as a regional president for South Florida in addition to managing a book of business with clients located throughout the United States.

Michael has more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry. He began his career with Executive Risk Consultants (ERC) 1990-1994, where he focused on mid- to large-sized construction, manufacturing, and hospitality industry clients. During his tenure with Physicians Corporation of America (PCA Solutions) 1994-1997, Michael was a corporate officer and a member of the company’s senior management team, responsible for managing a 14-state territory and more than 20,000 property and casualty clients with approximately $400 million in annual premium. From 1997-2000, as part of the senior management team of Builders Insurance Group, Michael was instrumental in growing the company to the largest writer of workers compensation in the state of Georgia. In 2001, through a joint venture with Insurance Office of America (IOA), Florida’s largest independent insurance agency, Michael co-founded US Administrators, a managing general agency and claims administration company.

Michael has extensive insurance company management and operations experience, including underwriting, claims, loss control, premium accounting, and audit. Additionally, his career has focused on evaluating, developing, marketing, and negotiating loss-sensitive retrospective rating plans, large deductible programs, captive insurance companies, individual self-insurance, group self-insurance, and fronting arrangements.

During his career, Michael has been instrumental in developing and servicing insurance programs for a wide range of trade associations throughout the Southeast and parts of the Midwest. These organizations include associated general contractors, associated builders and contractors, home builders associations, retail associations, restaurant and hospitality associations, auto dealer associations, and auto aftermarket associations.
