Mike Melim joined Insurance Office of America (IOA) in 2018 with a focus in construction and real estate insurance programs. With more than a decade of experience in risk management, Mike draws from an extensive background in understanding the complexities of risk transfer when it comes to landlord and contractor relationships.

Mike specializes in risk management, captives, and employee benefits for mid- and upper-midmarket companies, which include real estate, contractors, and manufacturers. He has a passion to help business owners find vulnerabilities in their insurance programs and assist in seeking alternative solutions to protect their long-term goals. He prides himself on being available to his clients, developing relationships with underwriters, and having the ability to design unique insurance programs for his clients’ ever-changing needs.

Mike was exposed from a young age to various trade industries and has a unique understanding of the day-to-day nuisances, which has contributed to his success in finding different ways to approach underwriting and carrier negotiations. Aside from his success with his clients, Mike enjoys paying it forward by mentoring young agents as they start their careers in the insurance industry.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from Florida Atlantic University.
