About Nathan

Nathan Brainard joined Insurance Office of America (IOA) in 2005 and is currently the division president in charge of its North Florida Division. He quickly became interested in representing companies with any type of environmental exposure, from manufacturing to superfund cleanup. He is responsible for establishing the corporation’s environmental division. His client list has grown to include, but is not limited to, recycling centers, landfills, transloading operations, material recovery facilities, asbestos and soil abatement services, demolition contractors, residential and commercial waste collection companies, water treatment facilities, and portable toilet/septic companies.

Partnership is an important concept to Nathan and one he does not take lightly. His goal is to partner with his clients to help them grow their companies in a safe and profitable manner while mitigating the cost of their insurance without sacrificing coverage. In this respect, he considers himself more of a consultant than a salesman. He maintains working relationships with environmental lawyers, consultants, and financial institutions that specialize in lending to waste and recycling companies in an effort to offer a range of useful services to his clients.

By more wholly engaging with his clients, Nathan is able to provide strategic assistance. He has helped firms get out of factoring situations, which improves their ficials and makes them more attractive to bonding companies. He has identified and eliminated policies that are erroneous and has consolidated policies onto stronger coverage forms while at the same time reducing premiums. Nathan came to IOA from the sales division of the Marriott Corporation.

Nathan earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. He holds an accredited advisor in insurance (AAI) designation.

Nathan is an active member of the safety committee for the National Demolition Association, Florida Onsite Wastewater Association Associated Building Contractors, National Solid Waste Management Association (he sits on its Safety Committee), Seminole County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity Alumni Association, and Florida State University Boosters.
