LONGWOOD, Fla. (November 18, 2025) – Insurance Office of America (IOA) is pleased to announce that Marisa Lagos has been awarded UNIBA Partners’ 2025 Alan Sutton Award, presented annually at its Worldwide Conference.
The Alan Sutton Award is named in memory of Alan Sutton, a deeply valued former UNIBA Partners Board Director remembered for his integrity, warmth, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Each year, the award recognizes an individual within the UNIBA network who goes above and beyond in serving clients and partners, a description that fits Marisa perfectly.

This year, it highlights the creativity and solution-focused approach that Marisa brought to resolving complex issues for UNIBA’s clients. Marisa received multiple nominations from across the network, each highlighting her professionalism, creativity, and dedication. One nomination shared a remarkable example of her efforts:
“Marisa was able to get us PI and GL quotes for a maritime engineering company with exposure in the U.S., while the actual work was being done in the Netherlands, a complication for U.S. markets. She coordinated with three separate insurers across two countries to secure coverage and even obtained agreement from insurers to forfeit their rights of subrogation for the Dutch parent company. Without Marisa’s help, this would never have worked the way it did.”
