Bo Shaw joined Insurance Office of America (IOA) in 2016 and serves as a Vice President, specializing in commercial real estate with a concentrated focus on private equity–owned assets. Bo works extensively with multifamily portfolios, condominium associations, hotels, shopping centers, office buildings, and real estate developers nationwide.

Bo’s approach is rooted in a deep understanding of real estate ownership, operations, and investment objectives. By aligning insurance strategy with the full lifecycle of an asset—from underwriting and acquisition through the hold period to ultimate disposition—he structures long-term insurance programs that protect client investments while actively managing risk. He routinely collaborates with commercial real estate brokers, appraisers, complex capital stacks, lenders, and insurance compliance firms to help negotiate insurance terms that best support client goals and financing requirements.

Through scale and specialization, Bo has built proprietary insurance programs through partnerships with carriers, wholesale brokers, MGAs, and MGUs, delivering unmatched solutions and pricing efficiency for complex real estate portfolios. He directly places insurance for thousands of habitational units annually and maintains a national footprint serving operators and managers of commercial real estate assets.

Bo’s performance has earned numerous recognitions, including IOA’s Chairman’s Award (2023), Georgia Region Partner of the Year (2024), Mentee of the Year (2019), Georgia Rising Star (2018), and the Business Insurance Power Broker Award.

A graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, Bo earned a degree in Risk Management and Insurance, providing a strong technical foundation early in his career.

Bo is actively involved in IOA’s Young Agents Program and is a member of Young Risk Professionals, Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia (IIAG), Community Associations Institute (CAI), and the Young Ambassadors Council of First Tee Golden Isles.
