L. Kay Howland, CWCA, CIC, joined Insurance Office of America in April 2023 with more than three decades of experience in property and casualty insurance. Kay specializes in serving manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and contractors. He remains committed to educating his clients on current insurance trends and risk management best practices. As a seasoned insurance professional with a unique blend of expertise and personal interests, Kay exemplifies dedication to excellence in all his endeavors.

Kay began his career at a small insurance agency, specializing in personal lines and small business accounts. As his career progressed, he advanced his skills in evaluating risk for both medium-sized and small businesses. In 2001, Kay founded Granite Insurance Group, Inc., a commercial agency that provided businesses with tailored insurance solutions.

Kay earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Utah. He holds the certified workers compensation advisor (CWCA) and certified insurance counselor (CIC) designations.
