Joseph “Joey” Cohn joined Insurance Office of America in 2022 as a commercial insurance consultant and risk manager. He has a passion for helping businesses manage their risks while also protecting themselves from financial loss. He works with businesses of all sizes, first assessing their risk exposure before developing customized insurance solutions to protect their assets and their bottom line.

Joey’s clientele spans a myriad of industries and includes some of Florida’s most successful privately held businesses. He and his team emphasize the importance of risk management as a primary means for long-term cost control. In addition to the traditional global insurance marketplace, he regularly evaluates captives, self-insurance, and other alternative risk financing structures to achieve optimal transparency and efficiency.

Prior to joining IOA, Joey gained valuable real-world experience in risk management while working as a project manager handling risk management for a civil construction company. During this time, he developed a keen understanding of the risks inherent in construction projects as well as the importance of having comprehensive insurance coverage to mitigate those perils. This familiarity inspired him to pursue a career in insurance and use his knowledge and expertise to help other businesses.

Joey earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. He has a passion for giving back and has been on the board of the Give Hope Foundation since 2017.
